For the Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Church would like to celibrate the 11 February each year as a Day of Prayer for the Sick.
February is still Winter ! and it is difficult for the Sick to travel at this time of year ! This year, in Pontmain, The Day for the Sick will be held on Thursday 23 May.

Day for Accompanists and Helpers to the Sick, Handicaped or Aged and Infirm

Monday 11 February 2013, we gather in PONTMAIN with the Accompanists and Helpers engaged in service to the sick, handicaped or aged and infirm, from various groups or professions (Nurses and Care Staff, Secours Catholique, Conference of St Vincent de Paul, Parish Groups for the Sick, Handicapped and those in need of care...). With the help of Mary, Mother of Hope, we have trust in the Lord for our Mission.

Programme for the day
9:45 : Welcome in the Basilica
10/10:45 : Recounting of the Apparition
11h : Mass celebrated by Mgr SCHERRER followed by the Angelus in the square or in the Lady Chapel of the Basilica (depending on weather)
12:30 lunch (picnic or meal previously arranged.)
14:30 : In the Basilica : "The Mission of Accompanists and Helpers engaged in service to the sick, handicaped or aged and infirm under the protection of Mary Mother of Hope, Shine Forth the Light of Faith … !"
15:00 : Prayer for Accompanists (Prayer for those who serve)
15:30 : Final Blessing by the Bishop.

If you wish you can prolong your day of pilgrimage in the Parish Church with Rosary, followed by Vespers and Hour of Eucharistic Adoration.
